Emerge Desktop
Emerge Desktop is a replacement windows "shell" (the desktop environment normally provided by Explorer) for Windows 2000 and above. It provides a system tray (the area that collects the icons collected at the lower right corner in Explorer), called emergeTray and also access to the users programs (normally accessed with the windows "start" button) via a right-click on the desktop, called emergeCore.
Emerge Desktop allows the user to completely change the way their PC looks, for example it can remove the menus and toolbars that Windows normally has on the screen leaving a totally clean and minimalist look that is very easy to use. In addition the program can be modified with a set of applets that can add all sorts of elements on the screen from weather forecast information to all kinds of widgets.
The program is free and can be downloaded from the Windows Store on your PC/Laptop, it is very simple to install, just select the application that you want to download and click on the blue button with the name of the software and you will be taken to the page where you can see the price of the app (Free in this case), the app is automatically added to the list of applications installed on your machine and it will appear as a tile in the taskbar or in the Start Menu, just click on the icon to start the program. It is very important to add the emergeCore and emergeWorkspace files to the authorized files in your antivirus program to avoid problems when loading the program.
